State Alumni: Interactive Online Grantees and Alumni Directory

State Alumni is an online global community for all past and current participants of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs – including Fulbright alumni. Interactive, dynamic, and password-protected, alumni.state.gov offers alumni a place to network, share ideas and stories; participate in Q&A Live discussions; and access free valuable resources such as grants, jobs, and research databases. The Fulbright Community on State Alumni brings together current grantees and alumni, while also supporting the program’s worldwide professional network.

Inter-Country Travel Grants

You should know that approximately 250 U.S. lecturers and researchers representing a variety of academic fields participate in the Fulbright Scholar Program in Europe. European Fulbright Commissions share a list of these grantees and through their web pages inform higher education institutions about the grantees. There is a possibility to invite a grantee placed in a country other than his/her host country.

If you are invited to lecture in another country, you would notify the Czech Fulbright Commission and ask your contact person in the host country to contact a Fulbright Commission of that country. It is this Commission that arranges for travel and a host contact arranges for lodging in a host country.

Travel expenses of intercountry exchanges would be borne, in general, by the Commission of the inviting country. A university hosting a particular visit would cover lodging. Intercountry grants must take place during your grant period and should not exceed two weeks.

Also, you and your Czech host could explore the list of U.S. Fulbright grantees in Europe and consider if your host institution would like to invite a U.S. Fulbright scholar from another country. In such case, refer your host to more details on the application process.

Mid-term and Final Reports

Fulbright scholars who lecture or conduct research for two semesters in the Czech Republic are asked to submit their mid-term report by the end of their first semester and their final reports by the end of their stay in the Czech Republic. Fulbright scholars who stay for one semester only are asked to submit their final reports by the end of their stay. A report can be sent via regular mail or e-mail; however, it must be authorized by signature if e-mailed.
