8.3.2010 - The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has published a Request for Grant Proposals (RFGP) entitled “One-time Competitive Grants Program -- Competition A--Academic Programs” which includes a component on “Capacity Building for Undergraduate Study Abroad.” The deadline for submissions is April 12, 2010.
2.3.2010 - WanderingEducators.com, an online global community of informed, engaged educators, published an article on the EducationUSA, a global network of 400+r advising centers that serve as the official source on U.S. higher education opportunities for students in 170 countries. The article includes an interview with Marty Bennett, the EducationUSA Marketing Coordinator at the Institute of International Education.
28.1.2010 - Georgia State University’s Frank J. Hall, a professor of mathematics, will visit the Czech Republic this spring thanks to a U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program award, to collaborate with a renowned mathematician in research in an area that impacts computer science, economics and other fields.
7.1.2010 - In the context of the EU-US co-operation in higher education and training a new call has been launched together with the US Department of Education, covering a series of actions - grouped under the common title of "ATLANTIS". The 2010 ATLANTIS Call for Proposals covers the following actions: Transatlantic Degree Consortia Projects, Excellence Mobility Projects, and Policy Oriented Measures. Application deadline is April 8, 2010.
16.12.2009 - Stephanie Zelnick, assistant professor of music at KU, was recently accepted by the International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest, the most prestigious juried event in the clarinet scene, to perform at the 2010 festival in Austin, TX. Additionally, Zelnick was also recently chosen to perform a concerto with the Yuetao Symphonic Wind Ensemble in the National Theater Concerto Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. Zelnick was a recipient of a Fulbright Grant and received her Artist Diploma at the Academy for the Performing Arts in Prague.
